…sustainable and competitive compared to conventional wall construction
Industrial strength
Reference project OPENLY Valley Widnau - Europe's largest hemp building with a wall area of 1,500 m², produced in just 30 days.
Current annual capacity of 10,000 m², scalable to 1 million m² (approx. 15,000 apartments) per year
At Cancret, we are redefining the future of construction with our patented technology for horizontal prefabrication of hemp-lime walls. Our solution transforms timber construction companies into pioneers of the sustainable building revolution.
Using CANCRET for your construction project
A conventional timber frame construction is planned and put out to tender. These elements are poured horizontally using CANCRET's patented Hempcrete mixture at the locally selected timber construction company. Around 50m² can be produced per day with the help of the mobile mixing plant.
The key point: the mixing plant comes to the timber element and the added value remains with the timber manufacturer. This strengthens the ecosystem and reduces transport distances.

Natural materials
Impressive performance
Hempcrete binds more CO2 than is released during its production (-100 kg/m³ compared to +220 kg/m³ for normal concrete).
It transforms buildings into certified carbon sinks and supports global climate goals.
CO2 negativity
With an insulation value of 0.06-0.07 W/m-K, Hempcrete ensures excellent energy efficiency and reduces heating and cooling costs. At the same time, it offers fire resistance (EI120 at 12 cm plastered) and natural mold resistance, ensuring safety and durability.
Thermal insulation
Hemp grows regionally in just 110 days, requires little water, can be cultivated without pesticides and provides around 7 tons of building material per hectare - a renewable resource with a minimal ecological footprint.
Sustainable raw materials
The proof in practice
OPENLY Valley Widnau shows what is possible: industrial scalability, speed and sustainability all in one. With CANCRET, every construction project becomes a showcase for the future.
Construction system OPENLY as a full-service provider for new construction and refurbishment projects. www.openly.systems
With a weight of just 350 kg/m³, Hempcrete makes construction easier, reduces transportation costs and relieves the load on the statics - perfect for modern, efficient timber construction.
Lightweight construction
For every 10 cubic meters of hempcrete (= 1 ton of CO2), myclimate currently pays the builder 80 CHF as a construction subsidy (via Openly)
